Free Vacations and Employment
As a remote, full service
lodge on the Denali Highway, Alaska, we require very important staff to ensure our guests enjoy their visit. We do not
hire a lot of employees, but try to attract good natured, hard working, easy to get along with folks who don’t mind
spending some time away from the city! If you are interested in a position please send us an e mail outlining your qualifications.
Thank you very much for considering us!
FULL TIME POSITION OPENINGS! We are currently seeking two entry
level people to join our team and help run the lodge. Customer service is the first priority at Alpine Creek Lodge.
Must be a good people person. No exp necessary. We are gearing up for our busy snow machine season!
Job will include cooking, cleaning, keeping the lights and heat on. Will work under the direction of the lodge manager.
Other duties may include grooming 100's of miles of snow machine trails, and general maintenance. We look forward to
hearing from you!
Free Alaskan Vacation Positions! We are currently interviewing for FAVP positions. Please read the
job description below. Hello and thank you for your interest in Alpine Creek Lodge’s FAVP (Free Alaskan Vacation Positions) program!
It is set up to share this beautiful wilderness with you, in exchange for you taking the responsibility of a few very important
jobs necessary for us to offer our guests the experience they expect and deserve.
What we offer: We would like you to join us for our standard week long
trip here at Alpine Creek Lodge. We ask that you schedule your tickets into Anchorage on a pre-agreed upon flight that
will coordinate with other guests we may have coming and going. We will arrange your transportation to and from Alpine
Creek Lodge and Anchorage. A two week or longer stay may be arranged depending on the circumstances. You will
stay in the main lodge on the staff floor or staff cabin. When you have finished your pre assigned jobs, you are welcome
to enjoy the locale through hiking, fishing, snow shoeing and relaxation as you please. You will be on your own during
your free time.
Your responsibilities: Every morning we prepare breakfast and pack lunches for our
guests based on customized lunch orders we took the night before. These are most often various kinds of sandwiches.
This will be your first job. We ask that you arrive at the lodge no later than 6:00am and help set the table for breakfast
and prepare the sandwiches for the day. This usually takes about two hours, but must be complete by 8:30 when the guests
usually depart for the day of activity. Next, we ask that you help our kitchen staff wash dishes and clean up after
breakfast, change and wash bedding. Your second job will begin at 4:00pm, preparing for dinner. Once
you are done with this job, please check in with the kitchen and help clean up and prepare for the next day. Depending
upon how busy we are and how long the above activities take, we will expect you to spend 1 hour per day chopping and stacking
wood, landscaping around the lodge, and general things that will make the lodge more presentable. That’s
it! The rest of the time you are free to have fun! You can ‘volunteer’ to help out with other tasks,
but please know you are not expected to.
Other expectations: We do have a few other criteria. We expect
you to present yourself in a professional manner and appearance. That doesn’t mean mind all your p’s and
q’s and wear a tie, it just means please dress tidily and don’t repeatedly drop the “f-bomb” and other
choice words. The guests we have are very pleasant people and are not intimidating, so relax and be yourself.
Please clean up after yourself after lunch, and please take care of our equipment (atv’s fishing poles, snow machines,
etc.) that you might use during your break time. We will also expect you to change the sheets on your bed and clean
up the staff room upon your departure. Please understand that each of us will be extremely busy every moment of every day. This is
the time of year we make the money that we need to live off of during the winter off-season months, and represents whether
or not our guests will choose to return and/or recommend us to anyone else. We have a lot on our minds! You are responsible for getting to
where we pick you up in Anchorage and we will get you back to Anchorage at the end of your stay with us. While
staying with us, we provide your room and meals, and lodge equipment as long as guests aren’t using them that day. If you are interested in this program
please e mail us with a list of your qualifications, how long you are interested in staying, what activities you are interested
in during your break time, and which week (s) would work best for you!
